Rebma or Bust

24th Leviathan 3658 – later afternoon

It is a shock to receive the contact from Mother through my hand mirror, after all this time hearing nothing from her. She asks me to bring her through, so I go to her quarters and call her using the big mirror there.

She is surrounded by people. I recognise Caine in the background, and Fiona of course, but not the others who are with her. A number of them come through the mirror. Mother hugs me and asks the date so I tell her it is 24th Leviathan 3658. I wonder how long it has been for her since she left?

She introduces me to the strange group of people she has brought with her. One of them, called Margrath, stands out to me – I can tell he has power, and he looks like an Atlantean. Several of the others also carry items of power, and weapons.

Mother sends a note to Queen Moiré and we are soon summoned to the throne room by two guards.

Mother gasps when she sees Moiré enter – I think she is surprised by the change in her.

The group are introduced again, and refreshments are provided, while Mother tells Moiré of the war they fought and its aftermath. I listen in as much as I can. Then Mother asks permission for Fiona to walk the Rebman Pattern in order to power a trump gate.

Scylla speaks next, explaining what has happened in Rebma during the past three years – the earthquake that shifted everything, the fact that the stair now leads to a different beach, and that Amber cannot be found.

Mother and our guests are tired, and Queen Moiré asks me to ensure they have appropriate quarters, which of course I am happy to arrange. There will be a formal dinner later, and I am interested to learn more about these people and where they are from.
